Giving Back to Our Community
City of Hope, Washington, DC Walk for Hope
April 2011 - Belfort's CEO, Mike Huber, matched pledges, dollar for dollar, raising over $50,000 for Washington DC's first ever Walk for Hope, Women's Cancers, and Women's Cures.
YMCA Loudoun County
As the corporate sponsor of the YMCA Loudoun County Charity Golf Tournament, Belfort has supported the "Building Bridges Campaign" to help send kids to camp and provide after school day care. Proceeds have benefited many Loudoun County families.
Loudoun Abused Women's Shelter
Each December a portion of sales is donated to the Loudoun Abused Women's Shelter. The shelter provides safe housing for battered women and children. Besides providing financial support for shelter repairs, furniture is donated, as well.
Embry Rucker Shelter
Based in Reston, Virginia, the Embry Rucker Shelter homeless shelter has been a beneficiary of our Holiday Fundraiser.
ECHO, (Every Citizen Has Opportunities)
Belfort replaced a van that transports handicap adults to jobs in Loudoun County. In addition the sales staff has purchased and holiday gifts each adult participating in ECHO's program. For many, these are the only gifts received during the holiday season.
American Cancer Society
For several years, Belfort has donated funds to the American Cancer Society, and recently added the "Avon Walk" to its list of recipients.
Be Green
In conjunction with the Virginia Department of Forestry, Belfort is planting a tree for every delivery it makes. Since 2007 we have donated over 78,000 tree seedlings to the state of Virginia. Our efforts restore our forests, beautify our landscape and to help offset carbon dioxide emissions. And, did you know that Belfort recycles, on average, over 3.75 tons of cardboard monthly?
Education Foundations
Throughout the year donations are made to the Loudoun Education Foundation, Loudoun County Public Schools and Fairfax County Public Schools. As a strong supporter of education, Belfort has supported the efforts of our school systems to better our community at large.
Mary's House of Hope
Belfort Furniture donated furnishings for the transitional home for women, Mary's House of Hope, located in Purcellville, Virginia. The 100 year old home was completely renovated and in need of furnishings. Belfort answered their request by donating four complete bedrooms, a sofa, chairs, occasional tables, a dining room, and accessories. The house has truly become a "home."
USO
When the USO called requesting comfortable reclining furniture for our men and women in uniform at the Dulles International Airport lounge, Belfort answered their call. Now our active duty personnel can relax in comfort with their families as they wait for flights to assignments.
